Introduction to Typefaces with Dalton Maag

£199.99

Friday 10th July
12:30pm – 5:30pm
London

We think that the design industry requires people to be more skilled than ever before and traditional educators are finding it hard to remain relevant. We want to address this by creating a collection of lessons that are led by guest lecturers who specialise in diverse disciplines. It is now time to provide opportunities for professionals to find the knowledge needed for a successful future.

Guest Lecturer
Eleni Beveratou is the creative director at Dalton Maag. She holds a BA and MA in communication design from the Vakalo Art & Design College, and an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading. During her time at Dalton Maag, Eleni has been involved in the design of typefaces for brands including Airbnb, Oracle, Aston Martin, and Wendy's. She has a particular interest in the science of reading, and its impact on type design. Her findings have been featured in Digital Fonts and Reading by World Scientific.

Dalton Maag
Dalton Maag is a typeface design studio that works alongside designers and brand specialists to help clients find their best typographic expression including logotype refinement, font licensing and the creation of custom font suites. Lesson Outline
This workshop will include both practical and theoretical elements, across four parts addressing the key topics of expression and emotions, size, usage, and language.

3: How typographic expression can be translated to other writing systems to ensure consistency when communicating with global audiences.
